Our service ends when your offer gets accepted and you have paid the holding deposit.
Our Homies work with you non-stop until you have secured a place you like. That means we'll help you and advise you until your offer has been accepted by the estate agent and landlord with the conditions that you have.
At that point we'll put you in touch with the estate agent that advertised the property. The first thing you should do is:
- Pay the holding deposit asap
We'll be around to make sure that once you have done this, the property is taken off the market by the estate agent. This means no-one else can see it or put an offer on it.
After that, you're in the agent's hands and you'll need to:
- Start the referencing process: give the agent all the documentation necessary
- Read and sign the contract
At Homie we have, to be the best of our abilities, made sure that your contract reflects the conditions on your offer, but you should always read the tenancy agreement throughout to double-check you are happy with it. As it is a legal document, you will be bind to the agreement after signing it.
Now it's also the time to pay for your:
- Security deposit: around 6-8 weeks' worth rent
- First month's rent, minus what you paid already as the holding deposit
Note: in some cases the agent will need the deposit to have cleared in their account before they can release the keys.
Your homie won't be able to help you with anything after your offer is accepted, so it's important that you deal with your estate agent directly.
